It’s one of the biggest weeks on the fashion calendar, and the street style at Milan Fashion Week SS24 certainly didn’t disappoint. Inspired by the minimalist and laidback era of the late ‘90s, fashion-goers found the perfect blend of sophisticated pieces with an edgy twist. Midi and maxi skirts have become a staple, with handkerchief hems, slits, and skin-tight silhouettes ruling the streets. But that didn’t stop mini skirts and mini shorts from also making their mark – added with knee high boots and strappy sandals, which are quickly becoming some of the hottest footwear choices of the season.
While neutrals are never out of style, we’ve noticed a lighter take on the color palette, with grey, camel, cream, and white in full force. Metallics have re-entered the cycle, this time worn with shades like yellow, green, and blue. We also spotted an array of red handbags and shoes in the Italian streets, giving any outfit an instant pick-me-up. If in doubt about your outfit, just add a pair of statement sunglasses – they are the ultimate accessory of the season.
