As we usher in a new season of fashion on the runways, the street style at New York Fashion Week has never looked better. It’s been a long-standing tradition for NYFW to experiment with color, print, and fit, and this season is no exception. Midi and maxi dresses paired with blazers, boots, and sneakers are all the rage – we saw an array of gingham and handkerchief hems, proving Y2K fashion is here to stay. But it was also the time to pull out cargo pants and jeans, which were seen with tank tops and bralettes for a softer touch.
Multi-layered corsets, bikini tops, fringing, floral prints, and button-down shirts were also a staple this week, this time put together with futuristic silver bags, oversized Pierre Cardin-inspired sunglasses, ballet flats and strappy sandals. While there were plenty of bright colors on display, arguably the most popular choices were pink, yellow, and blue. But for those who adore all things neutral, rejoice – cream, black, and beige are once again the ruling trio. If you need inspiration for your closet, look no further than these best street style looks from New York Fashion Week SS24.
