We’ve come to the end of the fashion month, and while it’s been a whirlwind of stunning runways and spectacular shows, the trends we spotted on the streets were just as hot as the designers’ pieces. From the Mob Wife aesthetic to sculptural and unique accessories, the streets of Paris were buzzing with some of the most stylish outfits of the moment. It’s time to turn your next outfit into a work of art – get inspired with the five hottest fashion trends we saw at Paris Fashion Week FW24.
1. Bags with Unique Handles
When a patterned outfit alone just won’t do, why not add a bag with a unique handle? Designers like Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Cult Gaia have embraced a sculptural side to their pieces, and we’re already seeing it taking over the fashion scene. While we’re used to seeing plenty of inspiring designs within the actual structure of the bag, this time, we’re turning our attention to the handle. Think abstract, unusual, and standout designs – it’s essentially like adding another layer of jewelry to your ensemble without adding it to your body. This doesn’t mean you can’t go all out with texture and color on the bottom half, but juxtaposing a neutral handbag with a piece of artwork strikes the perfect balance.

2. Cool Double Denim Sets
We’re ushering back in the era of the Canadian Tuxedo, this time with an edge. Taking inspiration from the likes of Schiaparelli with a cropped slim-fitting denim jacket and maxi skirt or leaning into the Y2K aesthetic with a moto and mini, there are endless ways to make this blue set stylish. Even a simple denim shirt tucked into a pair of trousers will get heads turning. And don’t let the traditional blue shade fool you – playing with fun cut-outs, asymmetrical silhouettes, and points can easily turn a cool outfit into something spectacular. Even the smallest details can generate enormous impact such as a laser print along the panel of your garment, structural silhouettes crafted from denim or gold hardware in lieu of fancy buttons, or embroidered artwork.

3. Gothic Shoes
While we’re in the midst of the late ’90s and Y2K revival, we’re also witnessing the rebirth of another trend of the past – goth-inspired footwear. Characterized by their enormous platforms and ankle or knee-high length, they’re an essential item for every closet this autumn. From there, you can pretty much go wild – designers like Rick Owens and Balenciaga have experimented with hardware, and chunky rubber soles, blending two unlikely worlds together to create something brilliant. While their roots come from the underground in Britain in the late ’70s, that doesn’t mean your outfit has to stay true to the era. Throw in a pair of metallic trousers, a lace dress, or a leather trench to juxtapose the tough footwear – it’s time to tear up the fashion rule book and dress to express.

4. Large Nature-Inspired Jewelry
If the weather is too dreary to go outside, bring nature to you by wearing it on your body! Jewelry inspired by the beauty of flora and fauna is one of the hottest trends we spotted in Paris, with fashion lovers sporting giant flower earrings and oversized butterfly necklaces. Pair the large jewels with a crisp white shirt or monochrome outfit, letting the accessories make a statement, or intertwine them with a sea of bright colors, creating a garden within your own closet. Thanks to its large size, we recommend steering clear of other eye-catching accessories – let the jewels do the talking.]

5. Safari Animal Prints
Coming off the back of the Mob Wife trend we saw during the early weeks of Fashion Month, it’s no surprise we’re seeing plenty of animal prints. Of course, this trend is nothing new, and as we return to the cycle every few years, we tend to adapt it in a new way. This season is no exception. Lean into the ’90s with a zebra-printed moto jacket, or go all out with a leopard print maxi dress. If all else fails, nothing is better than a tailored blazer and trousers in the duotone pattern, adding fresh flavor to the classic power suit. Break up the bold print by throwing in other colors, such as black, red, white, or beige to soften its impact.
