It’s been a long wait but the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for 2015 has finally arrived. And what an amazing show it was! Here are all the details, from the glamourous looks and themes to the outstanding musical performances.
While there’s no doubt that this year’s VS lineup was as spectacular as ever, it was the gorgeous Behati Prinsloo who was honoured with opening the show. Strutting down the runway to the high-energy rock music of Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar, Behati was beaming with smiles as her 70s-esque outfit literally radiated love and stars. More models followed with similarly psychedelic outfits featuring an abundance of bright multi-coloured patterns and fringing. In this section of the show, Kendall Jenner made her VS runway debut to a warm welcome from the crowd and proud parents Kris and Caitlyn Jenner who were watching the show.

Following the bold opening, musician The Weeknd helped the girls transition into the sensual second segment. With the bright lights turned down and an ominous brick background looming, the models walked down the runway which was now lined with “iron” fences. Pastel colours were mixed with neutrals to define outfits made of lace and chiffon. With some cheeky winks and blown kisses, the angels appeared to possibly have a dark-side as they lured the audience into this segment.
Butterflies took flight in the third section of the VS show with giant blue wings surrounding the runway as Ellie Goulding sang to the crowd. Newcomer, Gigi Hadid made her first walk in this segment in a gorgeous green and black butterfly design. Other models donned elaborate butterfly wings on their backs including Lais Ribeiro’s incredible salmon coloured set which draped perfectly to the ground.
With temporary ice-blue eyes, a sexy Selena Gomez opened the PINK USA segment with a team of dancers. The fun continued with looks ranging from Taylor Hill dressed in an American flag to Gigi Hadid in fireman pants. The girls shook their stuff down the runway and Selena even gave Gigi a cheeky tap on the butt!
Ellie Goulding returned to the stage to introduce the Ice Angels with her hit song ‘Love Me Like You Do’. A dreamy cabin on a snowy mountain with stars in the sky set the scene as Candice Swanepoel rocked a nude skin-tight jumpsuit, beaded to perfection and cut in a deep-V down to her stomach. White of course dominated all these looks with plenty of feathers and fur for added drama.
Saving the best for last, Fireworks gave the show an added bang. Opened by Lily Aldridge wearing the coveted Fantasy Bra, she confidently strutted down the runway as The Weeknd sang ‘Can’t Feel My Face’. Models followed sparkling as their glittering outfits reflected the lights. Fireworks both before and after their ignition inspired designs for this segment, creating a colourful and exciting display.
As the show drew to an end all the models danced down the runway for one last time. Goodbye Angels and thanks for a great show! We will see you again next year.
