Will Harry Styles be Launching His Own Clothing Line?
One Direction’s hottest member has been long praised for his sense of style, he’s a regular at fashion shows and he has a close relationship with some of the best designers, but is his next venture his very own label?
Well, it looks as though the answer might be yes, as he told Grazia, “It’s definitely something I’m interested in.” Although he did go on to say he didn’t know how qualified he was to go into it alone, but he’s thinking about it, which means we’re excited.
Jessica Simpson’s Billion Dollar Brand Might Be Coming To a Store Near You
Someone who has launched their own line though is Jessica Simpson, in fact, she already has a very successful empire which includes clothing, accessories, shoes and fragrances and makes a whopping $1 billion annually. But she’s spreading her creative wings and planning on launching fashion boutiques for her brand. According to Us Weekly, a source revealed to them that this should happen “within the next year” in some of the major U.S. cities including New York, Texas, Chicago and Los Angeles. Would you be excited to shop in a Jessica Simpson boutique? Because it looks like it might soon be very plausible.
Tyra Banks Lashes Out At the Modelling World
Tyra Banks is one of the world’s most celebrated supermodels, but she’s got a bone to pick with the industry. Taking to Instagram, the American beauty posted a throwback photo of herself, in which she explained that she is sick of the pressure that the modelling industry is putting on models these days, and that they are expected to be skinnier than ever before.
“Models have so much pressure today. They have to look good on AND off the set. They have to arrive backstage at fashion shows looking and dressed as if they are already ON a runway. They have to be slimmer than slim. Skinnier than skinny. They have to compete with actresses, recording artists and reality stars for magazine covers and ad campaigns,” she wrote.
Tyra also went on to explain that when she was a young model she was a size 6, never a size 0. She makes some powerful points, do you agree with what Tyra banks has to say? We do.
Models have so much pressure today. They have to look good on AND off the set. They have to arrive backstage at fashion shows looking and dressed as if they are already ON a runway. They have to be slimmer than slim. Skinnier than skinny. They have to compete with actresses, recording artists and reality stars for magazine covers and ad campaigns. They have to have tons of followers on social media to book top notch jobs. And they have to do selfies that make them look relatable, but not TOO relatable, because then people may comment that they don't understand, "Why the heck is THAT girl a friggin' model??!!!!" When I was a young model, yeah, we had to think about our weight, but not like today. I think I was size 6, not a size 0. And backstage at fashion shows, I looked like this photo you're looking at. Yep, that's teenaged me right before a YSL show was about to start in sneakers, plaid flannel and bad jeans. Mr. Yves Saint Laurent could care less how I looked when I arrived to his show. But when I hit his stage, he expected excellence. And I made sure I delivered that every time I was chosen to walk his amazing runway. I'm sending love and hugs to all working, aspiring and super models worldwide. You all have lots to live up to. And I'm here cheering for you every single day. Stay strong girls. #throwbackthursday #throwbackTyTy
Naomi Campbell Walks in Givenchy’s Men’s Show
Seriously, what can’t Naomi Campbell do? The supermodel took to the runway of Givenchy’s Spring/Summer 2016 menswear show in Paris earlier this week and she absolutely nailed it. Wearing a next to nothing, apart from an itsy black bikini, thigh high boots, and an incredibly stylish androgynous black and white striped blazer, Naomi proved why she’s been a driving force and major influence in the fashion world since the 90’s.
