The Best of the 2023 Met Gala
The first Monday of May was back in full force, celebrating the decadent and illustrious career of Karl Lagerfeld. The Met Gala, hosted by the Met Museum and Vogue, celebrated the works of the Austrian designer, who famously worked for Chanel, Fendi, Pattou, Chloé, and his eponymous brand. Attendees paid homage to the former designer, opting for his signature black and white aesthetic, complete with bows, lace, pearls, and fingerless gloves.
The Met Gala is one of the most prestigious events on the fashion calendar, and this year welcomed a flurry of new faces. Doja Cat shut the event down with her homage to Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, complete with a custom Oscar De La Renta gown with cat-like prosthetics. Guests included supermodels and Lagerfeld muses Cara Delevigne, Kendall Jenner, Naomi Campbell, and Adut Akech. Other standouts included Bad Bunny in Jacquemus, Rihanna in Valentino, Sora Choi in Thom Browne, and Cardi B in Chenpeng Studio.

“She and I have formed such a strong bond over the years, and I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received from her and the whole team since the very beginning of my career. For her to give me the honor of codesigning this collection and letting all my summer inspirations go wild has been a dream. I am so very proud of this collection and cannot wait to debut it in Cannes.”

Kylie Jenner Fronts JPG Campaign
Kylie Jenner is the face of Jean Paul Gaultier’s latest campaign – Flowers. Shot by Elizaveta Porodina, she dons platinum blonde hair, and a blush pink cone bra-inspired dress. Another shot featured a nude illusion liquid gown adorned with flowers.
According to creative director Florence Tétier, Jenner was “the representation of a modern mermaid that I was looking for.” The concept for the 2023 collection was inspired by a combination of “augmented nature” and the house’s archives.
