From traditional to modern, Milan wowed us again with its inspiring street style stars. Featuring predominantly mature prints and furry overcoats, there was a return to layering and a revival of more grown-up silhouettes. Shearling also made a much-anticipated return to Italian street style but wasn’t restricted to camel and beige-oriented color palettes. The warmth was also prioritized, with Milanese men keeping their outfits well layered with pieces featuring very thick dimensions. Keep an eye out for the bold statements, particularly the neon accessories that popped up in outfits where we least expected to see them. Gloves also featured heavily, signaling a return to more formality-driven aesthetics from the past.
Milan also taught us how to team our sneakers with dressy pieces this time and cemented the popular white sneaker trend. Round and wayfarer sunglasses also reigned supreme, complementing Milanese street style’s more solemn, mature elements for autumn/winter 2016. All in all, our street style pictures tell an undeniably dapper sartorial story, focusing on older pieces and how stylish gents have reworked them for modern viewing.
