Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week has set the fashion world abuzz, with shows from Schiaparelli, Jean Paul Gautier, Maison Valentino, and many more. It wasn’t just the runways that were brimming with enviable ensembles. The streets of Paris were emblazoned with stunning garments, from bold pantsuits, statement faux fur, ’60s-inspired miniskirts, and a mix of trench coats. A major trend we saw on the streets of France was the use of accessories. Belts and corsets cinched in waists – worn over coats, shirts, dresses, and more – brightly printed scarves made waves, and layering was the key. Thought-evoking and sculpturesque handbags and shoes added spice to each outfit, sparking a conversation within every piece. Daring jewelry, from earrings to chokers and rings, was a favorite amongst fashion goers – worn with neutral shades like black, grey, and camel, taking the ensembles to a new level. While this palette has remained strong each season, we’re also seeing splashes of color like red, blue, and green dominate the streets, worn in monochrome or with other shades. Wardrobe staples, like a humble pair of jeans, have become a mainstay. The denim was paired with oversized trench coats, embellished tops, and platform heels, adding a casual twist to the enviable attire. Themes of self-expression, individualism and a love of art were evident during the week and are sure to inspire lovers of style this season. Check out some of the hottest street style looks we saw at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week SS22.
