Maximalism is well and truly in this season, with Milan Fashion Week SS23 attendees sporting the brightest color combos imaginable – think purple, yellow, and blue. No shades were off limits on the streets of Milan, worn in the form of suits, skirts, and sweaters. Valentino Pink is in full force, seen on the streets as knee socks and tights, coats, dresses, and bags. Another trend we’ve noticed is the return of basics and classic tailoring, in an elevated way. Prada brought clean silhouettes with voluminous skirts and white tanks, which were offset by the chunky striped and chevron knits from Missoni. And suits – say goodbye to the plain black or gray minimalistic tailoring. This season, it’s about loud monochromatic colors and ’70s-inspired silhouettes – oversized lapels, cinched-in waists, and flared trousers. These Gucci-flavoured pieces accentuate your figure and make a powerful statement to boot. Clashing patterns are now a fashion faux pas of the past, as attendees used mixed prints and bold hues to create depth and multidimensional outfits. For those who prefer muted tones, get ready to be inspired. There was an array of leather dresses and coats in black and cream, influenced by the work from Balenciaga in recent seasons. Turn up the heat and get ready for the hottest street style spotted at Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2023.
