Brought to you by Chandon
A couple of months ago, somewhere between our globetrotting adventures we received news about our next big experience. We were approached about a unique opportunity with Chandon to share our story with the world. This four-part journal of reflections is an insight into our lives and our journey to achieving our dreams and goals.
Decades ago, Chandon was established with a motto that the unknown could deliver incredible opportunities. Just like the brand’s founder, Robert-Jean de Vogüé, who took risks and embraced the concept of venturing into the new territories, we also believe in the spirit of possibility.
The team at Chandon have spent a few weeks following our journey from our everyday life in Australia to our overseas travels, capturing special moments and spontaneous adventures along the way. This experience inspired us to reflect on the beliefs and choices that shaped our personal and professional lives and the benefits of living life unplanned.
I was born in a country that saw rapid changes in politics, technological advances, show business and media broadcasting. I embraced change since at a young age by living in three countries and fifteen apartments, changed six schools and I’ve had seven different careers.
Venturing into different careers gave me an insight into other industries and provided me with valuable knowledge and skills. I gained experience and understanding of the fashion industry, product development and all stages of design, learning valuable interpersonal skills along the way. This gave me a good perspective of what I wanted to do in life.
One of the biggest changes in my life happened when I met Colin, my husband. Together we have started to realise our dreams of building a career based around what we love, planning our own time independently from a structure created by somebody else.
We started TheTrendSpotter four years ago while we both had full time jobs. We wanted to be free to choose our path. To wake up every day with gratitude for the people in our life that we can spend more time with and the experiences we have been open to. Last year we made this dream come true by giving it a chance and the time it needed. We put our hearts into it and watched it grow and our excitement and dedication grew with it. Colin and I were able to share our love, passions and experience in the fashion industry with a wider audience every day. It was and still is an adventure for us.
Living an unplanned lifestyle for me is not about lack of vision or not working towards the biggest desires and dreams. It is about accepting change, being open to the challenges and knowing that there is a lot more to learn and discover along the way.
This perspective on life helped us combat challenges and opened our minds to endless opportunities like this inspiring project with Chandon.
See our Chandon video diary of living life unplanned, we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
