In just a few short months London Fashion Week will be upon us, and while we wait with bated breath to see the Spring/Summer 2015 collections, we have yet another reason to be excited this September.
This year British brand Marchesa—named after the eccentric and beloved Italian heiress Milanese Marchesa Luisa Casati—is celebrating their 10th anniversary with a move from their mainstay New York, to London Fashion Week. After years of showing their collections in New York, design duo Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are relocating to London Fashion Week for one season, to showcase their red carpet-worthy designs in the place where it all began.
“We had been speaking with the British Fashion Council,” Chapman told WWD. “We felt it was a good way to celebrate our anniversary.” Craig added: “It’s a one-off celebration in London, and then we are back in New York in February.”
“It will be a different experience,” added Chapman. “All our English friends and family can get an opportunity to celebrate with us.”
Marchesa produce elegant, sophisticated designs that are highly sought after by A-listers in Hollywood including Blake Lively, Lea Michele and Olivia Wilde—which is only partly assisted by Chapman’s husband, film producer Harvey Weinstein—so we cannot wait to see who is going to be in the front row.
LFW shows are set to take place from September 12th – 16th and Marchesa’s show will be a celebration that’s not to be missed!
