It wouldn’t be uncommon to hear the titles ‘London’s print kings’ and ‘masters of prints’ bandied around in the same sentence as Peter Pilotto. In the past collections, design duo was acclaimed for their futuristic prints that harnessed the potential of digital technology.
For S/S15, Peter Pilotto designs have evolved into a new realm. Rather than sticking to prints, the pair played with textiles to create a ‘futuristic meets pretty’ look, best described as ‘cyber florals’.
Texture plays a big part in each design, with swirling embroidery placed alongside tinsel, crystals, macramé and oodles of Perspex. To create balance, the bold textures were complimented by simple silhouettes and classical drapery.
Peter Pilotto’s presentation at LFW was a feast for the eyes. Whether you like their style or not, you certainly can’t accuse this design duo of playing it safe.
