For the past 25 years, the iconic, Australian-owned label Kookaï, has provided women with garments exuding femininity, confidence, and allure. This week, the exclusive launch of their AW17 collection transported a crowd of fortunate spectators into the world of enchantment and mystique. For this invite only event, Melbourne’s stunning 19th century George Ballroom was transformed into a magical garden, where exotic flowers crept up hand-painted walls and light shone upon the classic stained glass windows.
As the models emerged into this secret, nostalgic world, Kookaï’s new collection showcased its beauty as an extension of the striking flowers within the ballroom. Romantic reds and blush pink pieces created an air of feminine allure, while decadent navy and deep forest greens brought the collection into the mystical realm of a sparkling evening.
This season, the soft side of femininity was embraced and found its home in the classic, Victorian-era ballroom where silks, laces and floral prints featured. The silhouettes of the collection followed this aesthetic, as dreamy slip dresses, charming playsuits, and loose, textured knits delighted guests. Amongst the carefully curated crowd sipping on espresso martini’s and wintery Sangria were the Bachelorette’s Anna Heinrich and Georgia Love, former Miss Universe Renae Ayris, and Neighbours stars Olympia Valance, Lily Van Der Meer, Mavournee Hazel and Colin and Dasha Gold from TheTrendSpotter.
