Versace Hosts Sea-Themed Runway Show

Versace has hosted its SS21 collection in a secret fashion show to a select number of guests and live-streamed to the world. The underwater-themed event showcased sea creatures emblazoned across slinky slip dresses, elaborate ruffles, and oversized prints, complete with wet hair. Faces such as Irina Shayk, Adut Achek, and Precious Lee donned the catwalk, with various references to the designer’s SS92 collection.

 

The event encapsulated the beauty of underwater creatures, including starfish, jellyfish, and other aquatic animals. “Discover the underwater world of Versacepolis! A utopian settlement on the seabed ruled by Medusa with principles of empowerment, strength, and beauty,” the description for the event read.

Savage x Fenty Launches Men’s Collection

Rihanna’s much-loved lingerie line, Savage x Fenty, is launching a menswear collection with Christian Combs. The collaboration features underwear and loungewear, with an overarching gender-fluid concept. Pieces include knit boxers, pajama tops, and bottom set.

 

“I wanted to create menswear styles that everyone can wear,” Rihanna explained. “And after Christian did such a great job at the 2019 fashion show wearing men’s, I knew we had to have him as a collaborator.” The entire Savage x Fenty Menswear collection will be available for purchase on October 2nd online.

Celebrities Stun at Emmy’s Virtual Red Carpet

While the Emmy’s may not have had a physical show this year, it didn’t stop the nominees from dominating the virtual red carpet. Standouts such as Zendaya rocked two gowns for the event, the first in a purple and black Christopher John Rogers dress, and then a polka-dot gown from Giorgio Armani. Other faces such as Tracee. Ellis Ross sparkled in Alexandre Vaulthier, and Kerry Washington sported an incredible number from Oscar De La Renta.

 

Other winners wore loungewear while they watched the awards show from their home, and some made statements with their outfits. Regina King accepted her Outstanding Lead Actress Award in a Fuschia suit with a T-shirt of Breonna Taylor, who was shot by police in March 2020. She later showcased an oversized blue and encrusted Schiaparelli gown.

Dior Launches Education Program

Dior is partnering with the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) to cover the Youth Leader scholarships. In line with the launch, the designer is also debuting a film series ‘Dior Stands with Women’, which celebrates women in various fields. Some of the stars include Cara Delevigne, Paloma Elsesser, Yaltiza Aparicio, and Charlize Theron.

 

“Inspired by the exceptional women who have marked its history, Christian Dior Parfums unveils a series of short filmed portraits that give a chance to speak to extraordinary women,” the statement read. The fashion house will also work with CTAOP over the next four years to provide scholarships for African youth.

Supermodel, Gigi Hadid, has welcomed her first child with partner, Zayn Malik. The couple shared black and white photos of their new daughter across both Instagram accounts and Twitter, professing their love for the latest member of the family. “[Our] girl joined us earth-side this weekend, and she’s already changed our world. So in love,” shared Gigi Hadid. The supermodel shared her pregnancy news in late April, sharing photos of her journey along the way.
