Demna Gvasalia Leaves Vetements
Demna Gvasalia is stepping down from his role at Vetements to focus on other projects. He and his brother, Guram, founded the brand together in 2014, and his brother will continue to hold the position as CEO.
“Vetements has always been a collective of creative minds,” said Guram in a statement. “We will continue to push the boundaries even further, respecting codes and the authentic values of the brand, and keep on supporting honest creativity and genuine talent. What Demna has accomplished over the past few years represents a key chapter in the story of Vetements.”

Giorgio Armani Receives Achievement Award
Giorgio Armani is set to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2019 Fashion Awards. Founded in 1975, Armani creates ready-to-wear, haute couture and other attire for men and women. “I built my empire bit by bit, not in a rush, and that makes it solid. I have built it on the observation of reality, too, right from the very start,” said Giorgio Armani to Vogue. The Fashion Awards take place on 2nd December at the Royal Albert Hall.

Kith is Launching a Line for Barbie
In honour of Barbie celebrating its 60th anniversary, Kith has created an exclusive collaboration with the doll brand. The retail store is designing four bespoke pieces for 200 dolls, along with T-shirts and an exhibition.
“We’ve worked together to create a special experience for our customers where you will have the chance to create the official Kith x Barbie doll. Starting this Saturday 9/21, we will be hosting styling appointments where customers will get to select one of the four dolls we’ve created and then style them in a look from 100 different Kith Women apparel pieces. One of these submissions will then be selected to be produced as the official Kith x Barbie doll,” said Kith’s Instagram. The exhibition will run in Soho from September 21st to October 2nd.

Ralph Lauren Creates Friends-Inspired Line
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first episode of Friends, Ralph Lauren is creating a line inspired by Jennifer Anniston’s character, Rachel Greene. The collection is called “The One Where they Wore Ralph Lauren”, the wear-to-work range includes power suits, mini-skirts, polo neck shirts, and leather trousers. The collection is available to purchase online and in Bloomingdale’s replica of Central Perk.

Valentino Garavani Set to Receive Legacy Award
Valentino Garavani will receive the Legacy Award at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards. The recognition is for his contributions to fashion and his ‘savoir-faire and artisanal tradition’ for more than 50 years.
“Through his iconic work spanning over five decades, championing Italian talent, design, and fashion, Valentino is a creative visionary and truly deserving of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards’ Legacy Award,” said Carlo Capasa, the Chairman of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and Livia Firth. The Green Carpet Fashion Awards take place on 22nd September.
