Alexa Chung
Alexa Chung is undeniably one of the biggest fashion icons and millions of women are constantly looking to her wardrobe for style inspiration. A regular in the front row, the former British model has become the “it” girl for her effortless, chic style.
Alexa has that rare talent: she’s able to pick up unique and non-mainstream pieces such as overalls, button downs and peter pan collars and she makes them look stylish and modern. Sticking to classic neutral tones, she keeps her style simple and timeless.
We all know that fashion is not always practical, but Alexa shows us that comfort and fashion do actually go hand in hand, her favourite footwear is a trusty pair of pointed flats and her makeup and hair routine is basic and low-maintenance yet pretty. We love her trademark fringed cropped bangs.
Chung isn’t a snob when it comes to her wardrobe, while she loves designer labels—especially Mulberry who named a bag after her—but she also has a fair amount of highstreet items that she mixes and matches and she’s not afraid to repeat wear.
Karolina Kurkova
Karolina Kurkova has one of those incredible figures, so anything would look good on her, but besides that she has superb style and knows just how to push the limits when it comes fashion.
She has a flare for the dramatics including avant-garde capes and gilded headpieces but she is also well-known for her hip, effortless streetstyle and her favourite down-time piece when she is not showing off skin in short shorts, metallic hotpants, asymmetrical and geometrical skirts—are pants. Ranging from skinny jeans, neo leather pants and tailored trousers the leggy blonde always look elegant and knows just how to layer, regardless of the season.
Her wardrobe consists of chunky layers, cashmere knits, gillets and her edgy side comes out with her chic leather jackets all paired with her statement black ankle boots and oversized sunglasses.
We also love Kurkova for embracing one of our favourite 2013 trends, and showing the world just how chic white on white styling is with her white jeans, cropped white pants and white blazer being her key pieces.
Nina Garcia
Nina Garcia knows fashion and she practices what she preaches. She is a fashion expert, fashion journalist and currently the creative director of fashion magazine Marie Claire, but more than anything she understands that style is personal and timeless.
Being a middle aged woman, aged 48, Garcia shows the fashion world just how you can be stylish and elegant at all ages and for this reason there are three things that you will never see her in: “Tight, shiny and short. Not happening,” straight from the fashion guru’s mouth.
Instead she opts for well-fitted and streamlined clothing. She loves a good pair of paints, paired with a white crisp shirt a structured blazer and to finish, high yet comfortable heels. Nina style can best be described as the 3 s’s: simple, strong and streamlined!
Among her favourite designers is the late great Alexander McQueen, “Because what he did is so beautifully feminine. It was heavenly. When he went feminine, when he went soft, it was just ethereal.”
