As usual, the street style inspiration was high at Paris Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017. The clothes made us ‘dizzy’ (the word emblazoned on one memorable attendee’s t-shirt) with endless sartorial ideas, ranging from new ways to rock the quintessential white t-shirt and novel incorporations of pop art. Most importantly, Parisians know how to adapt statement pieces into their everyday wear. Statement tees ranged from slogans to playful incorporations of brand names. Also, keep an eye out for the androgynous trend that was highlighted with lace, sequins, and florals that were reworked for a masculine aesthetic. Leather pants and shorts were also popular and worn in versatile ways.
While we did see a lot of quintessential gentlemanly shapes, there was also an oriental influence with the other silhouettes that were highlighted through larger and more relaxed jackets, shirts, and pants that were intriguing in their own right. Overall, we were treated to a fresh street style that was anything but boring.
