Johnny Depp is Dior’s New Leading Man
Johnny Depp has signed on for his first ever campaign. The actor is not usually known for endorsing beauty and fashion products – which makes this collaboration even more exciting – but he has agreed to become the face of Dior’s first men’s fragrance, which is set to go on sale in September 2nd.
Not much is known about the upcoming scent at this time, but the mystery is intriguing us! However, we’re convinced that the pictures are going to be incredible, especially since Depp is no stranger to the modeling world and has graced many magazines covers in the past.
Melissa McCarthy is Launching a Clothing Line
Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy is loved by many for her comedic roles, but she’s now venturing into new waters because she’s launching a clothing line. The actress’s new clothing line is titled Melissa McCarthy Seven7 and while she has not given away too much details about it yet, here’s what we know so far:
The line is set to debut in August and will be sold online and department stores in the U.S, Canada and U.K. Priced between $59 and $159, the collection has been created with women of all shapes and sizes in mind, to give versatility to their wardrobes.
Marc Jacobs Unveils New Face For His Fall Campaign
We were impressed when Marc Jacobs unveiled Cher as the face for the brands Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, but it turns out that the singer is not the only person Jacobs is collaborating with. Taking to Instagram on June 4, Marc Jacobs revealed his second model, 14-year-old Willow Smith.
Photographed by David Sims, Willow can be seen wearing a black, steampunk-inspired dress and leather gloves, while sitting on a simple step-ladder. Speaking of his decision to use the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Marc Jacobs revealed, ”Ever since our first Juergen Teller ad in 1998 which featured Kim Gordon on stage wearing my dress, I have always preferred collaborating with the people who inspire me to give new life to the clothes we show on our runway.”
The designer went on to list some of the talented individuals that he has had the honour of working with, adding, “Beauty, style, and talent know no age. It is those individuals whose creativity, unique vision, and voice inspire all of us here to create and express ourselves through our medium: fashion.”
Needless to say, we are excited to see who his next model will be.
Transgender Model Andreja Pejic is Making History
Andreja Pejic has become the first transgender model to land a cosmetics campaign – which is also her first major campaign as a female model. Pejic was announced as the face of Make Up For Ever cosmetics back in April, but the photos have finally dropped, and (no real surprise here) they are incredible.
Pejic is no stranger to the fashion world, since she was discovered by a scout while working at a Melbourne McDonald, the model has famously strutted her stuff for both men’s and women’s runways, including Marc Jacobs, Giles Deacon, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
We are thrilled to announce our #BeMAKEUPFOREVER campaign that celebrates individuality & self-expression! We are partnering with 3 incredibly talented influencers: transwoman and supermodel @andrejapejic, actress and fashion blogger @jamiejchung, and #MAKEUPFOREVER Pro Consulting Artist, @melaniemakeup to live out loud: Be Bold. Be Unexpected. Be You. Double tap if you want to see exclusive campaign images!
Christian Siriano and Lane Bryant are Partnering Up
Fans of designer Christian Siriano will be excited to learn that he is partnering up with plus-size fashion brand Lane Bryant for a limited-edition line in Spring 2016.
Siriano seems a great fit for the brand, because his red carpet dresses have proven time and again that he knows just how to dress a woman’s curves in the most elegant and flattering ways – he also made blogger Nicolette Mason’s wedding dress which was just beyond gorgeous.
“In my opinion, fashion should never be defined by size. Regardless if it’s for red carpet or a day at the office, every woman should feel stylish and comfortable in their clothes,” Siriano said in a statement. “I’m excited about this partnership with Lane Bryant because it allows me the opportunity to showcase my designs on the everyday woman and allow them the opportunity to feel as beautiful and fashionable as possible.”
There is already a lot of buzz about this collaboration on social media, and shoppers are very excited to see what Siriano and Lane Bryant have in store for them. It’s a long time to wait, but we have a feeling that the waiting will be worth it.
