One of Australia’s favourite shoe brands and designers, Wittner stepped out in style yesterday evening at MSFW’s Hub in City Square.
Wittner’s show was unlike the typical runway; the use of props and coordinated styling and dancing to liven up the balmy Tuesday night, which made the runway that was open to the public, that much more charismatic for the first time festival goers.
Wittner chose three distinct styles as their runway and design inspiration:
Their first look was all about monochrome, paired with elements from the Swinging 60s; think Austin Powers. The designs were recreated with silver, black and white, high platform heels.
Summer style boots also made a comeback; with a peep-toe and cutout back, again paired with an high slim heel, perfect for the already warmer months of spring and summer.
We’ve also been seeing an influx of the 90s inspired strappy sandals, but Wittner worked in a chunky heel in the mix; and opted for silver to jazz it up which worked well in striking the audience and putting the shoes on show.
Wittner’s range chose a structured, high fashion presence, but still practical for those evenings out.
To the rhythm of Beyoncé- ‘Girls’, out came the African drums along with tribal and leopard prints to suit the mood as Wittner’s second runway look wowed the crowds. The chunky heel and strapped sandals continued as beige and neutrals were the sure-fire hits this spring as their nude summer booties strutted along the catwalk in contrast with rich blacks and browns to add some flavor with the cadenced beat.
The mood changed drastically as disco ball helmets and silver and black became the theme with techno, new wave music. Our favourite from the show were the pointy toe metallic pumps and the block silver plated heel sandals , the must-have trends and stylist’s favourites this season.
Wittner chose well to showcase the shoes and entertain as much as possible with props and dancing which worked well in their favour. And we are in awe of the models that strutted and danced in those heels and made it look effortless! We can’t wait to see these out in stores so we can nab them ASAP!
