Our European adventures continue with more of Italy. My first impressions of Florence were the renaissance and modern architecture, brick roads, international high fashion shops, amazing leather markets, unreal art and sculptures, and the most talented musicians. The streets and shops are featuring the latest fashion and style trends. While the majority of the people are dressed in the casual summer clothes for the 35 degree heat, the retail is selling the autumn winter 2012/13 collections. We have seen a lot of flouroscent or pastel colours, clear and metallics in the Spring/Summer 2012. White on white and jeans on jeans styling, digital floral prints, lace mostly in shorts and sport luxe inspirations. The winter collection colours are darker and richer, all over printed suits and peplums in knitwear are a highlight. Jewel embellishments and oversize coats, studded trims in accessories and apparel. Another very prominent winter trend is the evolution of timeless classics, and I have chosen to feature it in this post. The photo shoot was done in the beautiful setting of the Abbey of Sant’Antimo (Abbazia di Sant’Antimo) Romanesque church which sits in a large valley with views of the hill town Castelnuovo dell’Abate about 10km south of Montalcino. A truly romantic, secluded and beautiful place is definitely one of the highlights of our journey. xx D.G.I am wearing: Red Zara dress, Golden Estelle Necklace with Pony Fur detail, Bag and shoes are the local market finds.
